Location Centrally located at 757 Highway 108 East, just outside the town limits, convenient to shopping, restaurants, and all services. St. Luke's Hospital, Polk County Courthouse, Polk County High School and Isothermal Community College campus are five minutes away. It is one mile to Interstate 26, exit 67 between Spartanburg, South Carolina (25 minutes) and Hendersonville (20 minutes), North Carolina. To Mill Spring, NC is four miles, Lake Adger 7 miles.. |
Serviced and Equipped to Make Your Stay Easy Much like checking into a hotel, Woodlane House is equipped with just about everything you need. We do weekly towel and linen laundry for you at no extra charge, and you have your own laundry room for washing your clothes. The kitchen is ready to make your own meals, equipped with dishes, toaster, etc. - just buy your groceries. We come in and clean the house once a week - included in the rent. |

Furnishings to Make Your Stay Enjoyable Woodlane House is well furnished and is air-conditioned. Every room has a telephone. There's television with expanded cable service and free movies, and DVD player. The office room has a personal desktop computer, equipped with Microsoft’s Windows XP operating system and a printer. Or you can connect your own laptop, wired or wirelessly and you're connected to the Internet by high-speed cable connection - at no extra cost. Computer printer paper and replacement cartridges are available from Kangaroo Products Co. at moderate cost. |

House Accommodations Woodlane House has a living/dining room, a kitchen with natural-gas range, dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator(with ice-maker), an office room (with access direct to the carport), a separate laundry room with washer & dryer, two bathrooms (one with shower, one with tub/shower), and four bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have queen-size beds; two bedrooms have standard double beds. To the front of the house, off the living/dining room, is a covered deck. |

Storage for Your Stuff If your group is occupying all the rooms of the house, you're welcome to store things in the cellar downstairs. We recommend that motorcycles and bicycles be secured at night or at times you are away. |

Safety and Security
Highway 108 is a fairly busy two-lane road, and access to the house is visible from the public thoroughfare. If you will be away a good deal, or coming home alone, Woodlane House is considered a safe location. Across the road are owner-occupied residences. Next door is Kangaroo Products Company, owner of Woodlane House. Our staff is available Monday-Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Pets and children younger than 16 must be monitored by adults. Please don't allow them to leave the premises unaccompanied. No children younger than 12 should be left at the premises without an adult present. Please consult the property Manager for at-residence babysitting services, and other community services that are available to you. |

The cancellation policy is 72 hours for nightly stays and 10 days before arrival for weekly or monthly stays. According to North Carolina law, Woodlane House is a short-term hotel accommodation with "tenants at will." Management reserves the right to terminate accommodation of any occupants for any reason, without prior notice. Please be aware that other guests may be scheduled for occupancy after your reservation period, and therefore extension of your reservation is not guaranteed. |

Early Departure It's best to reserve Woodlane House for as long as you think you'll need to be there. If you must leave earlier, we will work with you if other guests are ready to move in. However if we've turned away other parties, or if no other guests are coming, you'll be charged for the length of your reserved stay. Accommodation rates at Woodlane House are by the month or week. Early departures will be decided by the Manager on a reasonable basis, but in no case will there be refund for a period of less than one week. |

Mail and Package Deliveries We recommend you have packages delivered to Kangaroo Products Company, to hold for you. We have daily delivery/pick up by United Parcel Service, Federal Express, and United States Mail. If you wish us to receive your mail, it should be addressed to PO Box 607, Columbus, North Carolina 28722. If you wish to havemail delivered to your own mailbox, the postal delivery address is 757 E. Highway 108, Columbus NC 28722. |

Guests of Guests The property Manager must be informed, in advance, of the full names and ages of all guests in the group when occupancy reservations are made. Any additions to the group must be approved by the Manager, as well as the identities of overnight temporary guests. Unregistered temporary guests are not allowed to occupy the premises overnight. This is for security purposes. We have the full cooperation of the Polk County Sheriff's Department with respect to security matters. It is customary for the courteous and caring sheriff's deputies to become familiar with tenants in our low-crime community. Please welcome them. Yard and Acreage Woodlane House is on three-quarters acre of land including lawn and woods. All exterior and landscape maintenance is handled for you. The Company owns an additional undeveloped three acres of woods adjacent to the house property on the north and east, to which your party is allowed access. If you or your guest has an oversized vehicle, please consult with the Property Manager for parking at Kangaroo's paved company parking lot. Please don't park vehicles on the lawn. |

A Small Town Welcome Columbus, North Carolina is a friendly small town with a variety of amenities and practical services. Gibson Park is nearby, with its summer swimming pool and tennis courts. Visitors and residents congregate at Stearns Park, across from the courthouse, with its paved walking lap trail favored by young and old. Polk County Library is open Tuesday-Saturday. Isothermal Community College offers many public programs. St. Luke's Hospital offers a particularly good exercise trail in the surrounding natural woods. Five miles and ten minutes away is Tryon, North Carolina, one of the most sophisticated villages in the South. There you will find the Tryon Fine Arts Center, historic Tryon Movie Theatre with its special film series, good restaurants, The Upstairs Artspace, contemporary art gallery, and fine specialty retail shops. Other good restaurants and specialty shopping are in nearby Landrum, South Carolina, which is the next exit southeast on Interstate 26 and "up the mountain" in Saluda, North Carolina, which is the next exit northwest. |
Seven miles / 15 minutes away, straddling the North Carolina/South Carolina state line, is Foothills Equestrian Nature Center, with its extensive network of foot, horse, and carriage trails open to the public free of charge. Ten miles away is popular Green River recreation area, where kids especially like floating down on inner tubes. Hikers enjoy trails to Upper and Lower Bradley Falls from Holbert Cove Road. History buffs enjoy visiting antebellum Green River Plantation in eastern Polk County.
Behind Woodlane House rises Tryon Peak and White Oak Mountain. The steep drive up is spectacular, with Upper and Lower Shunkawakan Falls, and spectacular views to north and south at the summits. There are numerous other beautiful areas in the vicinity, including the Hunting Country equestrian neighborhood with beautiful horse farms, Lake Adger with its excellent fishing, and Lake Lanier on the North Carolina - South Carolina border. The Highway 176 Scenic Byway is a drive that takes you up 1000 feet in altitude from Tryon to the charming village of Saluda. On the way, visit Pearson's Falls and the Wilder Nature Preserve maintained by Pacolet Area Conservancy. |
